Mixed Rabi Jaynes-Cummings model of a three-level atom interacting with two quantized fields

The quantumRabimodeldescribestheultrastronginteractionofatwo-levelatomcoupledtoasingle\udquantizedbosonicmode.AscomparedtotheJaynes–Cummings model,intheRabimodeltheabsorption\udand emissionprocessesdonotneedtosatisfyenergyconservationandtheusualrotatingwaveap-\udproximation(RWA)breaksdown.Asaresult,theatom-field dynamicsintheHilbertspacesplitsintotwo\udindependent paritychains,exhibitingacollapse-revivalpatternandexactperiodicdynamicsinthelimit\udof degenerateatomiclevels.HereweintroduceamixedRabiJaynes–Cummings modelbyconsideringa\udthree-levelatominteractingwithtwoquantizedbosonic fields, inwhichtheRWAismadeforone\udtransition (withaweakatom-field coupling)butnotfortheotherone(withanultrastrongatom-field\udcoupling). Asaresult,weshowthatthe field intheweakcoupledatomictransitioncanbeusedasatool\udto controltheatom-field dynamicsoftheother(strongcoupled)transition,thusrealizinganeffective\udtwo-levelquantumRabimodelwithacontrollable field. Inparticular,aperiodictemporaldynamicsof\udthe atom-field statecanberealizedbyappropriatetuningoftheweakcontrol field, evenfornon-de-\udgenerateatomiclevels.AphotonicsimulatorofthemixedRabiJaynes–Cummings model,basedonlight\udtransport inevanescentlycoupledopticalwaveguidelattices,isalsobriefly discussed.
